cognitive behavioral therapy
Individual therapy is a collaborative process between the client and therapist. Together we will formulate therapeutic goals to help you move toward hope & healing. One approach I use is Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This is an evidenced based therapy used to treat a variety of issues, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, post traumatic stress, relationship issues, sleep problems, and substance abuse. I approach this from a holistic perspective, incorporating not only your emotional health, but also your spiritual and physical wellness. Therapy from a Christian perspective is available to those who prefer this approach to their therapy.
EMDR THERAPY (Eye Movement Desensitization & REPrOccESSING therapy)
EMDR is an acronym for a psycho therapeutic technique called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
Research studies show that EMDR is one of the most effective therapies in treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. EMDR therapy uses bilateral stimulation, eye movement, tactile stimulation, or sound, which repeatedly activates opposite sides of the brain. This helps release emotional experiences and helps eliminate stress surrounding a traumatic event.
